How to get Slim Body must read follow and SHARE

Shedding the kilos involves developing a healthy eating regime. Here are tips on getting that right.
Don't miss meals
Have at least three meals or then four smaller ones at a certain time everyday. These should contain enough cereal, protein and vegetable and fruit. If you skip a meal not only do you lower the body's metabolic rate but also tend over eat in the next one, which is harmful, state diet experts.

Go for balance
It's wise to choose a combination of vegetables, protein, grains, minerals, fruit as well as fish, which is high in omega 3 fats that help prevent heart disease. High fibre foods like beans and whole grains are filling and low in calories. It's also recommended to have enough Vitamin C in the form of oranges or a lemon, everyday.

Don't overload.
It's said 'we eat with our eyes' therefore don't pile food onto the plate. Experts stress that an easy start to eating right is to practice portion control. Using a smaller dinner plate is smart and won't make you feel guilty. Just don't overload it, though.
Have more whole grains
Doing away with refined grains is most important when it comes to eating right and slimming down. The best sources of this are oatmeal, whole-wheat flour, bulgur (cracked wheat) and brown rice. Whole grains are said to have lower calories and they enhance one's fiber intake, which can in turn reduce blood cholesterol levels, lower your risk of cardiovascular diseases and chances of developing obesity.
Snack smarter
The next time you're pondering over what to have from a vending machine, do the right thing: walk away. Research points that snacking on chips or chocolates can hinder a diet like no other. Nutritionists advise having a healthy bite like a carrot stick or some dry fruit when you feel the munchies. A fruit is also a good option.

Jaundice overview, causes and symptoms must read

Jaundice Overview
Jaundice is a yellow discoloration of the skin, mucous membranes, and the whites of the eyes caused by increased amounts of bilirubin in the blood. Jaundice is a sign of an underlying disease process. Bilirubin is a by-product of the daily natural breakdown and destruction of red blood cells in the body. The hemoglobin molecule that is released into the blood by this process is split, with the heme portion undergoing a chemical conversion to bilirubin. Normally, the liver metabolizes and excretes the bilirubin in the form of bile. However, if there is a disruption in this normal metabolism and/or production of bilirubin, jaundice may result.

Common signs and symptoms seen in individuals with jaundice include:
  • yellow discoloration of the skin, mucous membranes, and the whites of the eyes,
  • light-colored stools,
  • dark-colored urine, and
  • itching of the skin.

The underlying disease process may result in additional signs and symptoms.
 These may include:
nausea and vomiting,
abdominal pain,
fever,
weakness,
loss of appetite,
headache,
confusion,
swelling of the legs and abdomen, and newborn jaundice.
In newborns, as the bilirubin level rises, jaundice will typically progress from the head to the trunk, and then to the hands and feet. Additional signs and symptoms that may be seen in the newborn include:
poor feeding,
lethargy,
changes in muscle tone,
high-pitched crying, and
seizures

Jaundice Causes
Jaundice may be caused by several different disease processes. It is helpful to understand the different causes of jaundice by identifying the problems that disrupt the normal bilirubin metabolism and/or excretion.

Pre-hepatic (before bile is made in the liver)
Jaundice in these cases is caused by rapid increase in the breakdown and destruction of the red blood cells (hemolysis), overwhelming the liver's ability to adequately remove the increased levels of bilirubin from the blood.

Examples of conditions with increased breakdown of red blood cells include:
malaria,
sickle cell crisis,
spherocytosis,
thalassemia,
glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (G6PD),
drugs or other toxins, and
autoimmune disorders.
Hepatic (the problem arises within the liver)

Jaundice in these cases is caused by the liver's inability to properly metabolize and excrete bilirubin. Examples include:

hepatitis (commonly viral or alcohol related),
cirrhosis,
drugs or other toxins,
Crigler-Najjar syndrome,
Gilbert's syndrome, and
cancer.
Post-hepatic (after bile has been made in the liver)

Jaundice in these cases, also termed obstructive jaundice, is caused by conditions which interrupt the normal drainage of conjugated bilirubin in the form of bile from the liver into the intestines.

Causes of obstructive jaundice include:
gallstones in the bile ducts,
cancer (pancreatic and gallbladder/bile duct carcinoma),
strictures of the bile ducts,
cholangitis,
congenital malformations,
pancreatitis,
parasites,
pregnancy, and
newborn jaundice.
Jaundice in newborn babies can be caused by several different conditions, although it is often a normal physiological consequence of the newborn's immature liver. Even though it is usually harmless under these circumstances, newborns with excessively elevated levels of bilirubin from other medical conditions (pathologic jaundice) may suffer devastating brain damage (kernicterus) if the underlying problem is not addressed. Newborn jaundice is the most common condition requiring medical evaluation in newborns.

The following are some common causes of newborn jaundice:

Physiological jaundice

This form of jaundice is usually evident on the second or third day of life. It is the most common cause of newborn jaundice and is usually a transient and harmless condition. Jaundice is caused by the inability of the newborn's immature liver to process bilirubin from the accelerated breakdown of red blood cells that occurs at this age. As the newborn's liver matures, the jaundice eventually disappears.

Maternal-fetal blood group incompatibility (Rh, ABO)

This form of jaundice occurs when there is incompatibility between the blood types of the mother and the fetus. This leads to increased bilirubin levels from the breakdown of the fetus' red blood cells (hemolysis).

Breast milk jaundice

This form of jaundice occurs in breastfed newborns and usually appears at the end of the first week of life. Certain chemicals in breast milk are thought to be responsible. It is usually a harmless condition that resolves spontaneously. Mothers typically do not have to discontinue breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding jaundice

This form of jaundice occurs when the breastfed newborn does not receive adequate breast milk intake. This may occur because of delayed or insufficient milk production by the mother or because of poor feeding by the newborn. This inadequate intake results in dehydration and fewer bowel movements for the newborn, with subsequent decreased bilirubin excretion from the body.

Cephalohematoma (a collection of blood under the scalp)

Sometimes during the birthing process, the newborn may sustain a bruise or injury to the head, resulting in a blood collection/blood clot under the scalp. As this blood is naturally broken down, sudden elevated levels of bilirubin may overwhelm the processing capability of the newborn's immature liver, resulting in jaundice..

Tips to help for healthy ,radiant skin

1.Fruits ‘n Veggies:  What you can do for your skin while eating your anti-oxidant rich fruits and vegetables is to use them also to wash your face or mash them for a facial scrub to exfoliate your skin. There is a whole list of fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, avocados, papayas, mangoes, cucumbers, peaches and the list goes on, that have great benefits for your skin.

For myself, I prefer to snack on tomatoes and Carrots, which are great for your skin as they are rich in Lycopene and Carotene. It’s best to eat them raw for optimum nutrition. I usually sprinkle a dash of salt on my tomato, which makes it delicious. Don’t hesitate while feeding on your carrot or tomato to use the juice to wash your face and/or mash it for a quick facial. Of course not all fruits and vegetables work for everybody. Some may cause sensitivity in some skin types. You've got to try several and find the ones that work best for your skin. If you have sensitive skin for example then stay away from the citrus fruits and go for cucumbers instead. Cucumber is well known for its soothing and softening properties. Also cucumbers have been widely used as effective eyes pads to relieve puffy eyes and dark circles around the eyes.

2.Handy Quick Natural Facial:  My favorite and quickest facial scrub is lemon, orange or lime peel scrub. Grate the pulp of any of the fruits above, add a little bit of honey and rub it over your face for a few minutes then wash with lukewarm water or green tea, pad dry and apply your face cream. Oh, you will be awakening your senses in the process too. The aroma of the citrus zest is intoxicating!
3.Rice Water: Use rice water to wash your face for clearer skin. Put few ounces of warm water in a small bowl; add 2 tablespoon of brown, wild or even white rice. Let it sit for a couple minutes, then run your fingers through the water and rice to stir drain and use the water to wash your face. Pad dry or let it air dry on your face and apply your face cream.

4.Green Tea…Of Course: Need anti-oxidant boost? As we all know, drinking green tea is good for you. It’s also great for washing your face. Brew some teas daily or enough to keep in your fridge and wash your face regularly with it. It’s a very effective, natural, low cost and healthy way to clean your face.
5.Try A Natural Moisturizer:  After washing or exfoliating your face, you might want to moisturize it well with any natural oils you can reach in your kitchen cabinet.  Put a little bit in your hand, add a few drops of water or tea, rub it in your palms and apply to your face by massaging it, gently in circular motions, onto your skin. I often use extra virgin olive oil that is a great moisturizer for dry skin. However, other oils, such as sunflower, almond and safflower, which may already be in your kitchen cabinet, have calming and emollient properties and have been used for years for medicinal and cosmetic purposes. Any of these oils will be a great natural moisturizer to help smooth and soften your skin.

6.Olive Oil + Citrus = Scrumptious Lips: Have dry lips?  Dab your fingers in a little bit of olive oil and apply to your lips.  Rub your lips together, remove any excess and voila!  You’ll have nice, moisturized, supple lips!  For a “zing” feeling, add a bit of lime juice.  The lime gives a refreshing feel and glossy lips.  Don’t apply citrus fruits if you have cracked or chapped lips or it will sting.  You need not stop here:  try other oils such as sunflower oil, sesame seed oil, with other fruits like strawberries, apples, pomegranates, and the list can go on.
7.Shade Is Your Friend: The sun is your best friend and worst enemy: We all love the sun; it keeps us warm and lively. However the sun can do great harm to your skin. According to Mayo Clinic “One of the most important ways to take care of your skin is to protect it from the sun. A lifetime of sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and other skin problems — as well as increase the risk of skin cancer.”

8.‘’Skin-cation’’: Try and give your skin a little break or what we call at Belle Aglaia  “skin cation” that’s right, you heard it here first, a skin vacation! Once in a while when lounging at home, remove all make up from your face; rinse your face using any of the methods described above.
Then, use any of the natural moisturizing methods and let your skin take a break. After doing this a couple of times you will be hooked and start feeling confident about your natural beauty.
9.Water! Water! And Water! Water is a girl’s best friend. It’s always around. Water has countless benefits for your skin, your entire body, and your overall health. So drink plenty of water to hydrate, replenish and moisturize your skin and feel healthy and beautiful.
10.Try Belle Aglaia Products: After you create a natural skin regiment, you will be feeling good. Our natural and organic products will help you maintain and simplify your healthy skin regiment while being a friend to your skin.
